Jarod

In 1963, the Centre isolated Jarod in order to harness his genius for our research. An escaped resident of the Centre, Jarod is a pretender, a genius who can master nearly any skill. He uses that talent as a one-man force for justice. As a child, Jarod was taken from his parents (in 1963) and spent decades (approximately 30 years) in isolation at The Centre, a think tank that sold the his mental gifts to the highest bidder. Classified as a "pretender" because of his ability to insinuate himself into any walk of life, to literally become anyone. Now an adult, Jarod has fled The Centre and goes about making wrongs right, while playing a deadly game of cat and mouse with his former keepers. Jarod remains at large.

Out to spoil Jarod's fun is The Centre's henchwoman, Miss Parker. Even though The Centre wants Jarod back as a valuable investment, she orders him shot on sight. Once an elite Centre operative in Corporate Operations, Jarod's escape has brought Miss Parker back into "field investigations" in charge of the hunt for Jarod.

Parker believed that when she was a child, her mother committed suicide in an elevator --- though information Jarod discovered in one of his Digital Simulation Archive recordings, has clued her in to the truth. A birthday gift from Jarod took her to her mother's weekend getaway (to visit a man she appears to have loved) in Maine, and to the realization that, like Jarod, she may not really know as much about her parents as she'd like to.

Miss Parker has a troubled relationship with her father (who may not be her biological father), who also works for The Centre. We've seen her soft side shown in conversations with him, yet his attentions aren't reciprocal.

Her work relationship with Sydney is cool, even condescending as she reminds him of her superior position in The Center. She appears to enjoy the power she commands.

Sydney Sydney is a psychiatrist in The Centre's Psychogenic Research Department, in charge of programming extremely gifted children and running simulations utilizing "pretenders." In that role, he often becomes an unintentional parent. Sydney is fond of Jarod and wants him to reach his full potential, which causes problems for The Centre when Jarod escapes. Sydney is protective of Jarod, like a surrogate son. Though on some level he feels betrayed by Sydney, Jarod still trusts him enough to turn to him for information about the identity of his parents, and for reassurance when he is troubled.

Broots Computer and electronics technician/researcher assigned to Miss Parker's Jarod Project.

Mr. Lyle A person of high authority in the council, Mr. Raines calls him the 'Boogie Man'. He took over Center operations while Mr. Parker was on 'vacation'. Also, he wants to use the Center for corrupt purposes, so he can generate large profits (defiantly greedy).

Brigitte A London operative that came to the Center at the same time as Mr. Lyle. Her connection to Mr. Lyle is unknown. She seems however, unlike Miss Parker, to be more obedient towards Mr. Lyle's & Mr. Raine's orders. Her commitment to catching Jarod is genuine. Although It's not known what connection there is between the Center and London, Bridgette could have been sent in for the purpose of identifying Mr. Raine's shooter. Also, she seems to keep a close eye on Miss Parker's attempts (which are questionable ones) to catch Jarod.

Mr. Raines The sinsiter character that seems to have a high position in the council. It has been said that Mr. Raine's first name is William. Which means that this is the only character that we know the full name of. Mr. Raines was responsible for making Kyle into the person he has become, and as well he did some experiments on Jarod that Sydeny was not aware of.

Mr. Parker Chairman of the Centre Council. Information given to Miss Parker by Jarod, has proved that Mr. Parker isn't Miss Parker's real father. Mr. Parker apparently met up with Miss Parker's mother after Mrs. Parker supposedly left her husband.

Angelo No official classification for Angelo. Not a pretender, but exhibits a sponge-like power to absorb personality data on others. Brought in on Jarod Project by Mr. Raines It's now confirmed that Angelo has the ability to leave the center , whenever he likes, and to venture outside. He demonstrated this ability in the episode called "Nip and Tuck".
